Lex Grandan, Senior Crew Lead / Operations Support - Bsc.

Lex joined Diamond Head Operations’ Knotweed crews in 2022 and returned as crew lead in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, they were promoted to Senior Crew Lead and Operations Support, coordinating with crews and clients in the absence of the Field Operations Manager. Their work includes invasive species surveys, knotweed treatments for developers and homeowners, client invoicing, and training crews in safe equipment use.

They are completing their final year of a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Restoration at BCIT. Before Diamond Head, Lex volunteered with the Stanley Park Ecology Society on stream and intertidal invertebrate surveys. Whether kayaking, hiking, or sharing best practices in invasive species management, they bring ecological knowledge and strong field leadership.

Raised near the West Dyke Trail in Richmond, Lex developed an early appreciation for coastal wetlands and their wildlife. That connection fuels their commitment to restoration and their passion for helping people build deeper relationships with the natural world, believing that care for the land begins with understanding it.
