Professional Climbing Arborist 

Diamond Head Tree Care Ltd (7110 Gilley Avenue, Burnaby BC) is seeking a professional climbing arborist for its new and fast-growing operational team. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience of practical climbing, rigging, removal and pruning, and should be ISA Certified or eligible for certification. Additional requirements for this position include a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a standard transmission chip truck. ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) is considered an asset. Wages are competitive and reflect level of experience and qualifications.

ecosystem restoration Labourer

We will be hiring for motivated individuals with great work ethics to join our operational team beginning in May, once the season kicks off. Our operational crews specialize in ecosystem restoration works including: invasive plant removals and planting native trees and shrubs. Work is mainly in natural areas and parks throughout Metro Vancouver.

The working environment will vary considerably, and eligible candidates will be working outdoors in all weather conditions (including rain and cold). Applicants need to enjoy working outdoors and have a good attitude.

Work is staged out of our Burnaby office (7110 Gilley Ave, Burnaby). Work hours are 8 hours per day starting at 7am Monday-Friday. Several job sites are in the City of Surrey, so candidates from Surrey are welcome to apply as long as they can provide their own daily transport to job sites.

Diamond Head Consulting, an award-winning environmental consulting firm based in Vancouver, is seeking a Consulting Arborist to join our team. The Consulting Arborist would support the ongoing development, administration, and improvement of Diamond Head’s Arboriculture Department services, and support office and field staff working on a variety of biology and environmental planning projects.

We are currently working on Urban Forest Strategies, Community Wildfire Protection Plans, and development-related projects in Arboriculture. The Consulting Arborist will play a key role in the successful completion of all these projects and initiatives.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Attend Site Supervisions for development-related projects

  • Writing reports and memos for clients based on supervision observations

  • Identifying and assessing onsite tree species, measuring and recording tree attributes (e.g., DBH, condition)

  • Downloading and utilizing maps using ArcGIS Field Maps deployed on iPads to locate trees

  • Responding to public inquiries in the field

  • Conforming to and documenting safe working practices

Candidates must have:

  • ISA Certification or working towards certification

  • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification or working towards certification

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • AutoCAD

  • ArcGIS

  • Microsoft Office Suite

 

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative team member, with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. The ability to independently problem-solve is essential.
