Vancouver urban forest strategy and public Tree management guidebook
Inventory Planning and Implementation
City of Vancouver
2017 - ongoing
DHC is working with the City of Vancouver to develop its urban forest strategy. The strategy will define the state of the urban forest and outline actions to improve its management within City’s current policy context. Goals, targets and metrics are being developed with staff towards achieving the vision for the urban forest outlined in the Greenest City Action Plan. A separate Public Tree Management Guidebook is also being developed for streets, parks and public lands owned or managed by the City of Vancouver. The guidebook will be an operational document inclusive of strategic and technical guidance on tree selection, planting, assessment, maintenance and inventory.
