Stream Restoration Plan and Prescription
Metro Vancouver
2013 - 2014

Metro Vancouver is planning to restore stream and riparian habitat on two properties that were recently acquired as an addition to Tynehead Park. This area contains a 250 meter long tributary of the Serpentine River. Diamond Head completed an environmental assessment to identify opportunities and constraints for restoring this habitat. The assessment included recommendations and cost estimations for enhancement of in-stream and riparian habitats.

Based in recommendations from the plan, a restoration prescription was developed including culvert removal, stream bank stabilization, creation of a wetland, addition of wildlife features, and a riparian planting design. Biologists at Diamond Head integrated habitat features to provide for multiple species with specific consideration for species at risk.
