DESCRIPTION: Inventory Planning and Implementation
CLIENT: City of White Rock
YEAR: 2015 - Ongoing
Recognizing the numerous benefits of urban forests - from supporting health and well-being, improving infrastructure performance and reducing costs, providing habitat and mitigating
effects of climate change, and building more resilient cites - the Urban Forest Management Plan established objectives, policies and priorities for achieving the community’s urban forest vision.
Diamond Head worked collaboratively with City of White Rock staff and the community to develop a community supported urban forest management plan. The plan will provide a 20 year vision for the urban forest and will incorporate neighbourhood level implementation planning to achieve the vision. The scope of work involved developing canopy targets and measures that are defensible, realistic and usable to enhance urban forest management outcomes in the City.
